I’m on call this weekend but we had a great day today! We headed to church this morning and decided to explore a few areas of Charleston that we haven’t been.
We first went to Avondale in West Ashley. We ended up driving around because it seemed like there were more restaurants than shops. It’s definitely different than other areas of Charleston that we’ve been to. I’m really happy we’re living where we are.
From a recommendation from a friend, we headed to Sunrise Park on James Island which is about 15 minutes from downtown Charleston. It gave us a beautiful view of the Arthur Ravenel Jr. bridge and downtown Charleston. An amazing surprise we came across was being able to find shark teeth!!! We were casually walking a small stretch of beach and another couple looked like they were doing the same thing. They were well versed in shark tooth hunting so they helped us out and we both ended up finding shark teeth of our own! Apparently shark teeth are all over the South Carolina shores.
After writing this out it doesn’t seem like we did much but it was such a fulfilling Sunday! We’re now relaxing and watching TV. I’m having Erik watch the show One Piece on Netflix. I highly recommend it!
Shark Teeth
Look at how tiny this shark tooth is! It's black from absorbing the minerals on the ocean floor.
